Coincidences, French Class and Juicy designers

In our French Class in Uni today we got small articles from French Elle Magazin, introducing new and hot Fashion Designers. We had to summarize the Designer Maxime Simoens.
After reading about his style, career, etc he sparked my interest.
Several hours later I checked vogue.de and there he was again....
Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and follow coincidences.
So I checked out his collection and was genuinly amazed. So here a few shots from his last collection mixed up with trivia about the designer.

he was just bought by the LVMH group

he started in parisienne haute couture at the age of 26

He worked with Gaultier, Dior and Balenciaga

at first he wanted to be a movie director....

... in 2011 he went to a Madonna concert, was amazed by the Costumes by Gaultier and changed his plans

if he is not working you can find him in the area of the palais royale in Paris

he finished his studies at the 'Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne' in 2006

he wakes up to music from the 'Yeah Yeah Yeahs'

He is shown in the Parisienne Haute Couture Calender ( a huge achievement for his age)

I think his designs are absolutly stunning!

From Grace for Mila with LOVE

A few pictures from the photoshoot for Grace and Milas new spring summer Collection!

I came in contact with the company through on of the founders, Patricia Chou, who went to school with me. Since then we have found a little Team of 4 friends that do the shootings together. It is always so much fun and we create the most amazing pictures together.

GStar Raw Fashion Show - Berlin Fashion Week

During Berlin Fashion Week I had the honour to work as a Dresser for GStar Raw's Catwalk presentation.
I have to say it was an amazing experience. The Clothes were so thought through (Their Connection to Denim is really well though about), the Models were so considerate and nice and the athmosphere was one of creative concentration.

The New Collection wasn't really my cup of tea but nevertheless I could appreciate the intelligent design which is based on Wildlife and circles around a new colour of blue for Jeans which is called China Blue.

I had the opportunity to talk to the head designer who told me more about the history and importance of jeans.

Apparently the tradition of dying fabric in this particular kind of Blue has been known for over 2000 years. The Blue dye actually binds the yarn so dirt can not enter it (This is the reason why new Jeans do not actually have to be washed but one just has to beat out the dirt)
Jeans became this popular for people living the wildlife because it had a lot of protective benefits.
Animals apparently shy away from the dark blue Colour because it resembles deep water, which animals that can't swim are oviously afraid of.

All of these concepts and more are compiled in this and most of the GStar Raw Collections.

Bloggers and Press seeing the Collection for the first time

I absolutly adore these mens boots

In the Womens Collection it was a lot bout mixing different volumes together to create interesting new shapes

All medals from flea market - one of them worth at least 100 Euros.... so obviously just a show piece.... what a pity
